If you have driven down 17 Bypass, it is certain that you have seen the construction taking place. If you have not heard what it is yet, here is the information. WonderWorks is coming to Broadway At The Beach in the Spring of 2011!! What is WonderWorks you ask? Well WonderWorks is a museum of sorts, where kids and families alike can go to explore and experience things. The Myrtle Beach location is going to be 50,000 square feet, and be over 97 feet high. From the outside, WonderWorks facade will astound you. Each museum looks like it was uprooted, flipped over, and landed on its roof. Get ready for the "amusement park for the mind" once you enter the doors. There are over 100 hands-on exhibits that combine education elements mixed with just enough entertainment so the kids still think they are having fun. Some examples of the experiences you will have at WonderWorks are: You will be blown away by 74 mile-per-hour hurricane force winds. You can maneuver the controls of a NASA spacecraft as you attempt to land the shuttle. You can lay down on a bed of 3,500 nails. You can pilot a fighter jet. You can design and ride a 360 degree virtual roller coaster. You can play along with your favorite sports team and be a member of their virtual team. You can enjoy playing laser tag. WonderWorks Myrtle Beach also features two outdoor adventures that are already open. They are called Soar Explore Zipline and Ropes Course. You can take the zipline that is 50 feet in the air, and cross over 1000 feet to the other side of the water. The ropes course is pirate themed, and it stands 40 feet tall, with 3 levels. You can navigate 33 different challenges that are comprised of more than 3,000 ropes and cables. Once it is open, there will be group and combo packages available to include everything WonderWorks has to offer. Be sure to check out www.wonderworksonline.com for more details!
