This fall the Myrtle Beach Speedway welcomes the The Ninth Annual John Blewett III Memorial North-South Shootout on Nov. 3-5. The race will be held at the .538-mile semi-banked oval track in Myrtle Beach. The race is being held in the memory of race promoter Charles Kepley, who passed away earlier this year.

Vehicles featured in the fall schedule will include Champion Racing Association Late Model cars and Open-wheel modified cars.

The track will hold a practice session on Nov. 3 and Nov. 4 for Drivers to qualify.

Five races will be held on the Saturday schedule including the Vintage Modifieds, SK type Modifieds, the USA Modifieds, then the features Tour Modifieds 100-lap race followed by the CRA Late Model 100-lap event.

At least 30 cars are expected in the two featured races.

Formally held at the Concord (N.C.) Motorsports Park in Concord, N.C., this will be the first time that the John Blewett III Memorial North-South Shootout will be held at the Myrtle Beach speedway.

Also, featured on this years fall schedule will be the returning Pro Cup Series on Oct. 22.

The Myrtle Beach Speedway features racing every Saturday night April 23 through early September with the exception of special events, Darlington and other Saturday night Sprint Cup races.

The Myrtle Beach Speedway was built in 1958. The racetrack has long become the training ground for some of NASCAR’s biggest names including, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Four generations of Pettys and Three generations of Earnhardts.
