Now open is the all new Myrtle Beach SkyWheel. The Myrtle Beach SkyWheel rises 200 feet above sea level and overlooks the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. This one of a kind Ferris wheel opened in May 2011 and is the tallest Ferris wheel on the east coast. Tickets for the SkyWheel can be purchased online or in person and the SkyWheel operates all year long!
The glass enclosed gondolas seat up to eight passengers and offers the best view of Myrtle Beach. Located on the new Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade, the SkyWheel is accompanied by a new restaurant and gift shop. Jimmy Buffett’s Land Shark Bar & Grill features live music, dancing and like the SkyWheel an amazing view of Myrtle Beach. The Land Shark Bar & Grill joins Jimmy Buffett’s two other restaurants in the Grand Strand including Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville and the Cheeseburger in Paradise Bar and Grill.
The SkyWheel includes 42 glass bubbles which carry its passengers 18 story high for a ride that lasts approximately twelve minutes. The SkyWheel offers a 360 degree view of the Grand Strand and stages light shows every night after the sun sets!
