The Palmetto High School Golf Championship is celebrating its 19th year here in Myrtle Beach. The 54-hole team stroke play championship tournament will be held March 24-26, 2016 and will allow students of any ability the opportunity to compete with students from both public and private schools. The tournament will be flighted based on an 18 hole qualifier round. The first flight will be played at True Blue Golf Plantation and the championsip flight will be played at Caledonia Golf and Fish Club.
The Palmetto High School Golf Championship is open to spring season high school golf teams whose home states have approved sanctioning thru the National High School Federation. A team must consist of four or five players.
Team registration will be held on March 23 from 4:30 pm until 6:30 pm at the True Blue Golf Plantation Clubhouse.. Stop by to pick up player gift bags and coach packets.
A 54-hole team stroke play championship, the Palmetto begins on Thursday with an 18-hole qualifier played at True Blue Golf Plantation. Tee times start at 7:30 am. Qualifying round results will be used to flight each team into a group (20 teams) with similar ability levels.
During Tournament Round One and the Final Round, teams compete against other teams in their group for awards. 36-hole gross team total scores are determined using the lowest four scores for each team. No substitutions are allowed once all starting players begin tournament play.
On Friday, Tournament Round One's First Flight will be played at the True Blue Golf Plantation. Tee times start at 7:30 am.
Tournament Round One's Championship Flight will also be played on Friday at the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club. Tee times start at 12:15 pm.
Tournament Round Two's First Flight will be played on Saturday at the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club beginning at 7:30 am.
Tournament Round Two's Championship Flight will also be played on Saturday at the True Blue Golf Plantation beginning at 8 am.
Players will play the opposite course that they played on Friday.
The awards ceremony will take place immediately following play at True Blue Golf Plantation. Awards will be given to the top 3 teams in each flight.
The tournament entry fee is $250 per student golfer and includes all three rounds of golf, lunch all 3 days & breakfast on Saturday, range access, a gift bag and awards.
Each team is provided 1 coaches golf cart. Coach packages are available for $50 per coach and include a welcome gift bag and four meal tickets.
