The Amazing Myrtle Beach State Park Challenge Race - March 1
If you enjoy the Amazing Race TV show, you'll love the Amazing Myrtle Beach State Park Challenge Race. Contestants use their wits, problem-solving skills and athleticism as they race around the Myrtle Beach State Park. On the six to eight mile course they'll have to solve puzzles, complete challenges and answer nature related questions. The two member teams must include at least one member who is 18 or older. Participants must be at least 12 years old. The race is limited to 30 teams, so call 843-238-0874 today to register. Registration ends on February 10th or when race is full. The cost to register is $50 per team. For beachfront accommodations near the park, you can't beat the Springmaid Beach Resort.
Big South Conference Championships - March 4-9
The Big South Conference Championships bring exciting college basketball action back to Myrtle Beach. Men and women's tournaments will be held at the HTC Center at Coastal Carolina University. Mardi Gras Parade at Dick's Last Resort - March 4
Come celebrate Fat Tuesday at Barefoot Landing with Dick's Last Resort's 22nd Annual Mardi Gras Parade. The Mardi Gras Parade starts at 5 pm in the front parking lot by the mall marquee. After the parade head over to Dick's for the crowning of king and queen, an awards ceremony (best & worst floats) and a fun-filled after party. You'll enjoy live music by Pale Horse.
Mardi Gras Party at Castano's Italian Steakhouse - March 4
Put on your mask and Mardi Gras outfit and head over to Castano's Italian Steakhouse at Broadway at the Beach for their Second Annual Mardi Gras Party. The party begins at 4 pm and features Cajun music, jambalaya, gumbo, party favors and more. Prizes will be awarded for best dressed and best mask.
National Shag Dance Championships
National Shag Dance Championships - March 6-8
The National Shag Dance Championships finals will be held Thursday through Saturday at the Spanish Galleon on Ocean Drive in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The event features professional and amateur dancers competing in several divisions: Junior I, Junior II, Seniors, Non-Pro, Pro and Masters. Town of Surfside Beach BBQ Festival - March 8
Sponsored by the Town of Surfside Beach, the Surfside Beach BBQ Festival will be held on Surfside Drive from 10 am until 4 pm. Come enjoy fantastic, live music, food and fun. Sawgrass will be performing from 11 am until 1 pm and the Josh Brannon Band will perform from 2 pm until 4 pm. The kids will love the free inflatable rides. Annual Spring Tour of Homes - March 8
The Franklin G. Burroughs Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum's major fund-raiser of the year, the 14th Annual Spring Tour of Homes provides a peek into some of the most stylish homes in Myrtle Beach. On the tour (10 am until 4 pm), you'll visit homes on North Ocean Boulevard as well as homes in Grande Dunes, Cipriana Park and Pine Lakes. There will also be a a luncheon buffet with ocean view for tour participants from 11:30 am until 3 pm at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club. Tour tickets are $40 per in advance or $45 the day of the tour. BFF Pink Ribbon Run - March 8
The BFF (Breast Friends Forever) Pink Ribbon Run is a family-friendly event to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research and treatment. The event features a 5K Run or Walk, 10K Run or Walk, Kids Fun Run and a Tot Trot. All events will be held at the Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach, SC. The 5K starts at 8:30 am. The Myrtle Beach Downtown St. Patrick's Day Celebration is a free, fun-filled event taking place from noon until 11 pm on the Boulevard between 8th Avenue North and 9th Avenue North (Ocean Boulevard will be closed to traffic in the area). 4th Annual Irish Fest - March 15

Head over to the Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery at Broadway at the Beach on March 16th for a day of fun at the beach with a Family Fun Run and the 3rd Annual St Patrick's Day Tilted Kilt 5k Kilt Run. The Family Fun Run begins at 8:30 am and the 5K Run starts at 9 am. After the race there will be a breakfast buffet, awards ceremony, door prizes and live music. An exciting, athletic event open to kids from 6 to 12 years old, Myrtle Beach Track and Field Day is a FREE event taking place at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium. The event gives competitors a chance to experience the atmosphere of a big time track and field meet. With running, jumping and javelin throwing competitions, everyone is sure to find a suitable event. The men and women's track and field teams from Coastal Carolina University on hand to meet the kids and teach them basic track and field skills. Track and field comes to the Grand Strand! Sponsored by Coastal Carolina University and the City of Myrtle Beach, the Shamrock Invitational Track Meet will be held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium. Run to the Sun - March 20-22
The Run to the Sun car and truck show will be held at the old Myrtle Square Mall (2501 N Kings Hwy) from 8 am until 5 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The show attracts car enthusiasts from all over the United States to the Grand Strand to show off their hot rods. All proceeds from the show go to the Children's Miracle Network and National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Annual Carolinas All-Star Basketball Classic, Slam Dunk & 3-Point Contest - March 20-22
This spring the top high school senior athletes from North Carolina and South Carolina will converge on the Grand Strand for the 17th Annual Carolinas All-Star Basketball Classic. The exciting event gives high school players (boys and girls) a chance to showcase their talent for recruiters as they entertain fans. A Banquet/Dinner will be held on Thursday at 7:30 pm. Christian Academy Presents S.E.A.S. 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run - March 22
Christian Academy's 2nd Annual S.E.A.S. (Successfully Educating All Students) 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run. Everyone will enjoy the 1-Mile Fun Run that begins at 8:30 am. The 5K is a professionally timed race along a challenging course that takes you on the beach, down Ocean Boulevard and along the Boardwalk. The ALS Association South Carolina Chapter presents the Grand Strand-Pee Dee Walk to Defeat ALS. The Walk to Defeat ALS raises funds to help sustain care services and support research. Archery For Kids Day - March 22
The Sandune Archery Club presents Archery For Kids Day, a fun-filled event for kids ages 9 to 19 as well as NASP Archers of any age. The event takes place from 11 am until 3 pm at the Sandune Archery Club inside the Socastee Recreation Park. Discover how much fun archery can be as you learn to shoot a Genesis compound bow and then participate in a line shoot at 10 meters and a 10 target 3D shoot. Get blasted with color in the Color Vibe 5K Run at the Myrtle Beach Speedway. The first wave of runners will be released at 9 am. The 6th Annual Myrtle Beach Beerfest will take place at the House of Blues at 4640 Hwy 17 South in North Myrtle Beach, SC. You must be 21 to attend. Tickets will be sold per 3 hour session. Beer Fest Session #1 is from 2 pm until 5 pm and Session #2 is from 6 pm until 9 pm.
