33rd Annual Blue Crab Festival
Visit the waterfront in Little River, South Carolina for a weekend of music, great food and fun at the Little River Blue Crab Festival on May 17-18, 2014. Started in 1981 by a group of artists and residents under the giant live oaks that line the waterfront, the Little River Blue Crab Festival has become a Grand Strand tradition that supports and showcases the scenic community of Little River. Known as "The South's Great Street Festival", the Little River Blue Crab Festival is one of the most popular events taking place along the Grand Strand.
Visitors to the festival can enjoy the event's namesake prepared in a variety of ways: soft shell, crab cakes, she-crab soup, crab on sticks, crab balls and the ever popular steamed crabs. In addition to crabs, you'll find other great local seafood dishes and a variety of landlubber favorites including pizza and funnel cakes.
The Blue Crab Festival features amazing, beach music performed live on stage. Fahrenheit will be performing on Saturday beginning at noon, Sea Cruz will hit the state at 3 pm and Gary Lowder & Smokin' Hot will follow them at 6 pm. On Sunday the music kicks off with Craig Woolard and The Embers at 3 pm. Jim Quick & Coastliner will hit the stage at 6 pm.
In addition to great food and music, Blue Crab Festival activities include arts & crafts vendors, business booths, community groups and an area just for the kids.
Advance tickets are available at a cost of $3 for a one day ticket or $5 for a two day ticket. Tickets are $5 per day at the gate. Advanced tickets may be purchased at the Little River Chamber of Commerce, North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce or First Bank in Little River.
